In a daring daylight robbery, five unidentified miscreants targeted the HDFC Bank located at Har-Har Mahadev Chowk in Begusarai, causing panic in the area. The incident unfolded on Thursday morning when the miscreants, disguised as customers, stormed into the bank and brandished weapons, taking both staff and customers hostage. Reports indicate that the robbers managed to loot approximately Rs 20 lakh before fleeing the scene towards Zero Mile on a motorcycle.

Eyewitnesses recounted the harrowing ordeal, stating that the miscreants swiftly filled two bags with cash from the bank's counter and ordered the shutter to be closed from inside before making their escape. Prior to targeting HDFC Bank, the culprits attempted a robbery at Kotak Mahindra near Kali Sthan, only to evade capture as police arrived on the scene. The Begusarai-Khagaria DIG Rashid Zama has initiated a thorough investigation into the matter, coordinating with local authorities to apprehend the suspects and restore security in the area.
